To secure a world where children’s rights are recognised,
respected and enforced. To achieve this vision, we have three
overarching outcomes that are a priority across all of our work,
including in our work on EU chemicals legislation:
1. That children are recognised as rights holders.
2. That the realisation of children’s rights is a collective
responsibility.
3. That every rights violation has a remedy.
We press for rights - not charity - and campaign for a genuine
shift in how governments and societies view and treat
under-18s. Using research, policy, art and advocacy to
communicate our vision for the future, we encourage people to
think critically about the world. We work across issues,
monitoring emerging and developing children’s rights issues
globally and prioritising new or neglected issues, such as the
impacts of toxic chemicals on children’s rights. We are a
registered charity in the UK, but our work is global, including at
the EU level for the project dedicated to EU chemicals
legislation (operating from Brussels).
Our overarching objectives translate into our work on EU
chemicals legislation, with the following actions:
● Build upon the argument and evidence for a children’s
rights approach to hazardous chemicals.
● Raise awareness amongst EU policymakers on how to
better uphold children’s rights through stronger
chemicals regulation.
● Work in coalitions, including with non-child rights
advocates, children’s rights advocates and children
themselves.
● Use art to support reform and raise awareness of
harmful chemicals’ impact on children.
